Touch Intelligence
The work
Touch Intelligence is a medical startup. Over the years the team has undergone a few pivots based on research and market analysis. During my time with the company, I was able to design many product features including Medical charting, Patient profiles, Patient forms, Appointment scheduling, Video calling, as well as the public website and various presentation and printed collateral. Each product direction was informed by industry research. In my role, I was able to design this product from scratch, define its branding, and create design systems. The deliverables also included the complete public website built in WebFlow.
The research
One of the essential early research projects included shadowing medical practitioners and several stakeholder interviews (with practitioners and receptionists). This 2-day research project also included a start-to-end physiotherapy assessment which allowed me to see their current tools in use spotting pain points and opportunities. All these learnings informed the initial Charting portal. All these meetings were done in person in two Calgary clinics and also included a feature card sorting exercise.
In the early stages, we also tested the product’s Value Proposition by performing A/B testing of the language and design of two websites through a series of virtual interviews during which potential clients. The prototype was done in XD and all the synthesis was completed manually.

This iteration of patient charting allowed the practitioner to take detailed notes during the appointment using an interactive body model. Charting during the appointments more accurately would eliminate the need to chart after hours thus saving practitioners multiple hours weekly.

This scheduling tool was designed specifically for front desk and practitioners allowing for a single view of the entire day or week with clear appointment statuses and instant patient preview.

The main goal of the in-platform video calling was appointment management. With this version, the practitioner can see their queue of calls and have their appointment open alongside the charting tools.
